East Leeds Enterprise

Leeds Ahead works with other organisations supporting enterprise development through the Leeds LEGI Programme.

This includes Catalyst Centres at the SHINE Harehills (formerly Harehills Middle School) site, and the WykeBECC unit at Seacroft.    This work is aimed at getting individuals living in inner city communities to think entrepreneurially and identify opportunities to develop business ideas. Rates of business start up in these areas are much lower than the city and national average.

Established businesses can support new start ups through mentoring, training, joining the networks based in the enterprise catalyst centres and identifying synergies between businesses.   Existing entrepreneurs have all faced similar challenges when considering whether to start their businesses. The city needs them to help others to follow in their steps.
