Category: ‘Business and Community Partnership Project of the Year 2008’

The Partnership : Aire Action , Leeds Ahead, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, British Conservation Volunteer Trust, Groundwork and 80 business volunteers from Barclays Commercial Banking, Premier Farnell, the Arena group, 4Site Security, Lexis Nexis, Buro Happold, careyjones, Baker Tilly and BNY Mellon.

This was a week of intensive activity where the volunteers donned overalls, gloves and boots to clear, create and build a safe area for children to play near the waterways alongside the Industrial Museum in Armley. This was the start of Aire Action’s long term development plans to increase the number of people who use the waterways, improve the environment along the footpaths, increase inward investment into the city and increase the footfall along the waterways.

Thanks to all our businesses that helped to achieve this award.
