  • Leeds Ahead member, Westward Care has been awarded 'Beacon Status', for its home in Beeston, Pennington Court, which identifies the home as one of a very select group to have achieved the very highest level of care provision for people approaching the end of life.  Pennington Court was one of only seven homes across the country to gain the Beacon rating in this round of awards.

In order to reach the Gold Standard care homes must undertake an intensive nine month training programme, embed the new practices into their daily routine for a further six months and undergo a rigorous assessment called 'Going for Gold'.

Martin Green, Chief Executive of the English Community Care Association said, "Leeds can be proud of the leading role Westward Care has taken in providing the highest standard of care for older people in the city."
