EASEL - East and South East Leeds Regeneration Initiative
EASEL is the long term regeneration plans for the East and South East Areas of Leeds. The communities included in the initiative include Burmantofts and Richmond Hill, Gipton, Harehills, Seacroft, Osmondthorpe and Halton Moor.
The regeneration plan includes:
building and developing a number of affordable houses to buy or rent;
Improving the local schools to include a number of opportunities in training, employment and enterprise;
tackling worklessness and fuel poverty and raising household incomes;
improving services in the communities, with local access to health, sport, green spaces, leisure facilities and a clean environment
encouraging local shops and businesses and promoting good transport links to boost the local economy.
