Nigel has been Head of the Leeds Office of Pinsent Masons for six years until Autumn 2010. He remains a Consultant with the firm. He is chair of Leeds Ahead and of Marketing Leeds (the city's strategic marketing organisation). He also sits on the Business Task Force of Opera North.

Nigel has been a Council Member of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce, a Steering Group member of the Leeds Property Forum, and a founder sponsor of Leeds Legal (designed to celebrate Leeds as the largest legal power outside London).  

With over 300 lawyers and support staff in Leeds and a contacts and connections directory of over 8,000 names, Pinsent Masons is a strong contributor to the regional economy. Nigel's role, about which he is passionate, is to support the further development of the region and Leeds as its capital. 

As a senior property lawyer with the firm for 37 years he was involved with many of the region's most iconic schemes, including the Jorvik Viking Centre and the Royal Armouries Museum as well as the development of three of the region's universities.
