David is founder and chief executive of Mill Group, a social entrepreneurial property and finance group which operates from London. Mill established Investors in the Community, a long term investment programme focused mainly on schools and community hospitals, which is backed by major UK pension funds and that works mainly through Public Private Partnerships.

Having come in contact with Leeds Ahead through IIC's Leeds schools project, David became chairman of Leeds Ahead and is a founder member through Community Sponsors, the charity he founded with other Mill Group colleagues. David stepped down as chairman of Leeds Ahead in Autumn 2010 but continues to be an active member of the board.
