Stephanie Burras founded Leeds Ahead in 2004 and is its first Chief Executive. She has been responsible for developing the Leeds Ahead concept, turning it into a sustainable social business and driving its expansion across the city. Prior to that, Stephanie was a partner in international law firm Pinsent Masons, where she worked for 7 years, having started her legal career in the City. She qualified as a lawyer in Germany in 2000 and is also a professional translator. In 2005, Stephanie was appointed by the Department of Communities and Local Government to its panel of national advisers on private sector engagement in regeneration. She was part of the Leeds team that put together the successful £20.6m Leeds bid to the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative Funding stream and co-presented the bid on behalf of Leeds before the national panel.
